چکیده

The kinetics and morphology of surface growth are studied for a ballistic deposition model with two kinds of particles ~A and C! in 111 and 211 dimensions. A morphological structural transition is found as the probability of being a particle C increases. This transition is well defined by the different behavior of the surface width when it is plotted versus time and probability. The calculated exponents a and b for different values of probability show the same behavior. We attribute this transition to the formation of wide vacancies during the growth while the interface advances. @S1063-651X~98!02008-X#

Random deposition model with friction: Equivalent to ballistic deposition without lateral growth

The Random Deposition model is the simplest model for surface growth, where there is no correlation between the neighbor sites of the lattice. In the Ballistic deposition model, the particles stick to the first neighbor particle; thus it is used to describe the deposition of the sticky particles. However, in many true-life phenomena involving surface growth, there is no adhesion. Instead, the f...

شبیه سازی رشد ساختارهای ستونی مس تحت رونشست زاویه مایل و گام‌های تصادفی مونت کارلو

In this simulation model, oblique angle deposition method and Monte Carlo random walks have been used. Growth model was ballistic deposition (BD). Incident particles flux comes to substrate at an angle with respect to normal. Two physical factors including self-shadowing and mobility limitation of incident particles make structures similar to independent columns with different shapes and separa...

Growth kinetics and morphology of a ballistic deposition model that incorporates surface diffusion for two species.

We introduce a ballistic deposition model for two kinds of particles (active and inactive) in (2+1) dimensions upon introducing surface diffusion for the inactive particles. A morphological structural transition is found as the probability of being the inactive particle increases. This transition is well defined by the change in the behavior of the surface width when it is plotted as a function...

Effects of substrate rotation in oblique-incidence metal(100) epitaxial growth.

The effects of substrate rotation on the surface morphology in oblique-incidence metal(100) epitaxial growth are studied via kinetic Monte Carlo simulations of a simplified model, and compared with previous results obtained without rotation. In general, we find that substrate rotation leads to two main effects. At high deposition angles with respect to the substrate normal, rotation leads to a ...

Ballistic Performance of Hybrid Armor with Ceramic Inserts and Polymeric Matrix for Different Threat Levels (TECHNICAL NOTE)

Ceramic materials due to their high compressive strength and hardness have been one of prime candidates in armor design in particular when high level threads (impact velocity above 600m/s) are involved. The aim of this work is to investigate ballistic impact resistance potential for a target plate with novel ceramic inserts as against ceramic tiles. Two size 98% alumina (AL2O3) base ceramic i...
